The Superstar was introduced on the court in 1969 for testing, and was released to the public in 1970 as the first low basketball shoe to feature an all-leather upper and the world-renowned rubber shell toe. By the mid 70s, three quarters of all NBA players were wearing new shell toes from adidas. This model, the adidas Superstar 2 Basic Suede, features animal embossing and a new color blocking on solid color. It has a soft and durable suede upper, as well as a non-marking rubber OUTSOLE.
